Q – How many employees does Desjardins Asset Management have?
A – As at December 31, 2007, Desjardins Asset Management, including its subsidiaries Desjardins Global Asset Management and Desjardins Property Management, had a total of 240 employees at its head office in Montreal and its offices in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver.

Q – Where are Desjardins Asset Management’s Montreal offices located?
A – Head office, including management and Legal Affairs, and the Securities Investments and Financial Engineering sector, are located on the 25th floor of the south tower of Complexe Desjardins. Real Estate Investments, Mortgage Investments and Institutional Financing, and support sectors such as finance, risk management, administration and IT are located on the 13th floor of the south tower of Complexe Desjardins,

A - Desjardins Asset Management also has offices on St. Clair Avenue West in Toronto, West Georgia Street in Vancouver.

Q – What is the relationship between the Desjardins caisses and Desjardins Asset Management?
A - Desjardins Asset Management is a subsidiary of Desjardins Group, which is composed of a caisse network, credit unions and Business Centres in Quebec and Ontario as well as some 20 subsidiary corporations active in life and health insurance, P&C insurance, securities, venture capital and asset management.

Q – Is there a business relationship between the Desjardins caisses and Desjardins Asset Management?
A – The business relationship between the Desjardins caisses and Desjardins Asset Management, Desjardins Group’s asset management subsidiary, operates on several levels. For instance, Desjardins Global Asset Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Desjardins Asset Management, developed Desjardins Alternative Term Savings (DATS) and Perspectives Plus Term Savings (PPTS), two savings products that are distributed by the Desjardins caisse network. In addition, the Mortgage Investments and Institutional Financing sector works with the caisse network and Business Centres to make shared loans that reduce risk.

A – Portfolio management is one of the asset management services performed by investment service providers.

Q – Is there a minimum amount required to invest with Desjardins Asset Management? If so, what is it?
A – First of all, the funds managed by Desjardins Global Asset Management, a subsidiary of Desjardins Asset Management specializing in securities investments, are institutional funds; clients for these funds are corporations and not individuals. The minimum initial investment required for one of these funds is in the millions of dollars. For its part, the Mortgage Investments and Institutional Financing sector of Desjardins Asset Management is involved in institutional mortgages, loan syndication, institutional financing and innovative private placement financings. Finally, the Real Estate Investments sector has unique expertise at Desjardins Group in the area of acquisition, development and sale of real estate investments.

A - Desjardins Asset Management manages portfolios for institutional clients in the areas of life, health and P&C insurance, pension funds, security funds, foundations and trust companies.
