Desjardins Property Management, had a total of 240 employees at its
head office in Montreal and its offices in Montreal, Toronto and
Vancouver.

A - Desjardins Asset Management is a subsidiary of
Desjardins Group, which is composed of a caisse network, credit
unions and Business Centres in Quebec and Ontario as well as some
20 subsidiary corporations active in life and health insurance,
P&C insurance, securities, venture capital and asset
management.

A – The business relationship between the Desjardins
caisses and Desjardins Asset Management, Desjardins Group’s
asset management subsidiary, operates on several levels. For
instance, Desjardins Global Asset Management, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Desjardins Asset Management, developed Desjardins
Alternative Term Savings (DATS) and Perspectives Plus Term Savings
(PPTS), two savings products that are distributed by the Desjardins
caisse network. In addition, the Mortgage Investments and
Institutional Financing sector works with the caisse network and
Business Centres to make shared loans that reduce risk.

A – First of all, the funds managed by Desjardins
Global Asset Management, a subsidiary of Desjardins Asset
Management specializing in securities investments, are
institutional funds; clients for these funds are corporations and
not individuals. The minimum initial investment required for one of
these funds is in the millions of dollars. For its part, the
Mortgage Investments and Institutional Financing sector of
Desjardins Asset Management is involved in institutional mortgages,
loan syndication, institutional financing and innovative private
placement financings. Finally, the Real Estate Investments sector
has unique expertise at Desjardins Group in the area of
acquisition, development and sale of real estate investments.
